DPS R K Puram is among the most distinguished of the Delhi Public School Society.
Chartered in 1972, it has emerged as an institution of learning
that can be compared to the best in the world. Both the caliber
and the commitment of the school towards its students and
the community have made it a path breaker in the pursuit
of excellence, firmly committed to the cause of education.
Pioneering the cause of quality education for the maximum number of children,
the Society has grown into a family of 63 schools in
different parts of the country and 6 schools abroad in Nepal,
Indonesia,
Kuwait, Sharjah, Doha, and Dubai. Another 28 schools
are already on the pipeline and will become operational from
2003-2004. Perhaps the greatest challenge that lies before
the organization is to maintain and strengthen its momentum
of participation, mobilization, and action at the global,
national, and community levels, and bridge the gap between
theory and practice. An educational program of universal
scope that aims to reach large numbers within the specific
time table must develop in an effective method of monitoring
progress. It is entirely due to this dynamic approach that
the DPS Society has earned a pride of place in the field
of education today making it a veritable platform for
Human Resource Development.
Location of the School
Situated in the Capital’s Southern district, DPS R K Puram is centrally located
and easily accessible by the 8000 students on its rolls,
who study at three different campuses. At R K Puram where
the senior school is located at an area of 12 acres, and
at East of Kailash and Vasant Vihar, where the two junior
schools are operational. The campuses lie in the heart
of the best-developed areas of New Delhi.
Academic Support Services
The vision of DPS R K Puram is directed towards the implementation of new projects,
along with open access to the expanding world of technology,
which has placed it on the forefront of the educational
map of India and the world. The high standards at DPS R
K Puram are maintained by the use of innovative teaching
methods and a result-oriented curriculum and evaluation
system.

is designed to acquaint the participant with the nations
of the world community, their policies and their problems.
The delegates get better equipped to deal with people and
cultures. During the course of the conference, hypothetical
emergency situations were introduced and the delegates
had to react to these crises on the spot. It was a real
test of their presence of mind, diplomatic skills and the knowledge of their country’s foreign policy.

DPSMUN Philosophy
The goal of the DPSMUN is to replicate the rules and practices used at the United
Nations to the largest extent possible. This aims at providing
the delegates with a conductive atmosphere wherein they
assume the role of actual diplomats representing their
country and experience pressurizing and complex situations,
nail-biting sessions, which keeps them on their toes throughout
the session.
